About Us

Our Meetings

Early Edition meets every Tuesday at the Bagel Bin Café, 2600 Elmwood Avenue, at the Twelve Corners in Brighton, N.Y. Meetings begin promptly at 7:30 a.m. and last one hour. An open house is held on the first Tuesday of every month and guests will find us in the conference room located at the back of the café.

Our meetings seek to establish a network of professionals and provide our members with an opportunity to present and explain their products and services to the group.
At Early Edition, we create “circles of influence” that enable members to network with others who have similar business goals. Our gatherings are supportive and friendly with a non-pressured approach to building business contacts.

What is Expected of Members?

Participation and commitment through attendance at weekly meetings is required. Meetings open with an educational tip given by one of the members, followed by “60-second commercials” as each member explains his or her product or service. Each week, a pre-selected member offers a 10- to 15-minute presentation about his or her company. By becoming familiar with each member’s work, all of us are able to make more and better business referrals.

How Long Does It Take To Obtain Referrals?

Referrals require consistent effort and participation. A new member can expect to attend many meetings before the group becomes familiar with his or her business and is able to provide referrals. Usually, a member will distribute another member’s business card to a potential client or provide the name of a potential client for the member to contact directly.

History

Early Edition was founded on February 6, 2001, as an informational meeting of B.N.I. The first open house was held on April 10, 2001, with 28 in attendance. Most of the guests were from other B.N.I. chapters.

Later, the group moved to the Bagel Bin Café, a more central location. In October 2001, under the direction of Henry Matheis, president, members separated from B.N.I. and established Early Edition as an independent business and professional networking association.
